Creating one of my Poster idea's!

To start off I thought I should set out the basic layout of my idea by putting blank box and lines too know how much spacing I have and how much room i have to work with.

I then went on too making the St Paul's Image to go on the box which i wished to make look like a brochure. To do this I used a technique I learnt in one of my teacher's lesson which is to trace over a picture using the pen tool in illustrator. I had to leave out some of the major details, but not too much so that you wouldn't be able to recognise the building

To the left you can just about see the final out come of the St  Paul's building which I will move into place.

Putting the picture in place, I picked a light blue to go as the background because I think it helps make St Paul's Stand out better.

using the pen tool again I was able to create two set's of footprint's were I then started to create a trail with the showing that you will be walking from St Paul's too London Bridge. I then put in two box'd along the path of shoes to place my picture in when the time was ready.

At this point in creating the poster I decided to stop and try another idea because I wasn't happy with how it was turning out, and I didn't think it would be good for my audience and found it was going to become cluttered and too busy. I did however decide to still use the St Paul's building because I liked so much how it had turned out.

To start with I decided to make it an upright poster because that is usually how poster's are. I then decided to go with a lighter grey background to the St Paul's. I started messing around making these stripe's which I quite liked so I decided to use them to rest the London bridge text on.

I then took my image of the St Paul's and placed it upside down and put it at the top of my poster. Because the was too big I had to leave some of the bottom of the building hanging off the page otherwise it would have taken up a lot of room.

Doing the same as the St Paul's building, I created a London Bridge and put it at the bottom of the poster.

Again I decided to stop here on this design and Try to recreated a different one. However, still wanting to use the St Paul's I decided to take it with me again, however I want to only use that building and with a brighter colour, and not have it so dark and dull.

Changing the colour of things and layout, I decided to go with a brighter coloured background to try and grab my audiences eye. I then rotated St Paul's again placing it at the bottom of the poster and leaving just that building and not bringing in london Bridge.

Still messing around with the line I had before, I decided to take two lines and place them on either side of the page, placing the text on top. This way you would be able to see were you where going to without it floating out of place without a structure to it.

Then going into photoshop with one of my images, I began to use the wand tool too delete all the parts in the photo which I did not need.

This is what it looked like after I deleted all the back ground in the image.

I then double click on the image in the layer's part and went to colour overlay. I then took the same colour from the St Paul's building I was using and made it the same colour for my 'Y'

I then began to do this for the rest with the rest of my photo's, until i had enough to say the name and the details of the walk.
